President's Message

Greetings and welcome to the Inglewood Alumnae Chapter (IAC) of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated…the Jewel of the Farwest!

We are delighted that you have chosen to visit our website to learn more about the dynamic and socially conscious work we have been doing in the City of Inglewood since our chartering, April 16, 1993. IAC is comprised of over 130 members that are focused on delivering innovative and transformative programs/projects and services that reflect our national organization’s five-point programmatic thrust – economic development, educational development, international awareness and involvement, physical and mental health and political awareness and involvement. We are committed to delivering service that uplifts and enhances the lives of black families and communities.

IAC is dedicated to cultivating an environment where our members are engaged and enthusiastic about service to the Inglewood community. We are focused on effecting social change—not just locally but on the state and federal levels as well. We are intentional about the collaborative partnerships that we have developed within the Inglewood community to further the agenda of our national organization’s strategic plan – for we are one Delta.

We continue to remain steadfast as a place where membership matters. So, if you are a member of our illustrious organization and looking for a chapter home, then IAC is the place for you! Please feel free to send an email to membership@iacdst.org for additional details. We look forward to welcoming you with a sisterly hug and smile on the 3rd Saturday of the month!!!

If you are interested in membership in Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc., please feel free to peruse our website and social media platforms (Instagram: iacdst1913 and Facebook: The Inglewood Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.) to learn more about the WORK we are doing in the INGLEwood community.  We also encourage you to stop by regularly for updates on how you might support the public service programs, events and fundraising opportunities which help us to support the youth of the Inglewood community. Who We Serve

DEMOGRAPHICS

For 30 years, IAC has focused its work and dedication to serving the Inglewood Community.  Our programs and services have a direct and measurable impact on the residents in Inglewood.

We give thousands of dollars away in scholarships to Inglewood's high school seniors.  We work with young girls and boys on the weekends to give them long lasting life lessons. Whether it is volunteering at SoFi, caravanning during the holidays, or bringing timely information on candidates running for office, we listen, we hear, and we impact.

Spotlight

POLICE REFORM AND ACCOUNTABILITY

The time for social justice has come.  At the very forefront of that reckoning is the need for police reform and accountability. While the majority of police officers are good public servants, there are repeated incidents of officer misconduct.

For too long, people of color have disproportionately been the recipients of police misconduct, and have struggled to have their complaints heard or believed and for anyone to be held accountable.
